The Sindh By-Election official results of the Sindh local government by-elections 2025 held across 14 districts, including Karachi, show the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) emerging as the dominant force. Out of the 20 results announced so far by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), PPP candidates secured victory in 17 seats, while Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), and an independent candidate won one seat each.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured a dominant victory in the Sindh By-Elections 2025, winning the majority of local body seats across Karachi and other districts of Sindh.

Polling Process And Voter Turnout

Polling for 28 local body seats started at 8:00 am and concluded at 4:00 pm. Despite a generally peaceful process, voter turnout remained relatively low in several constituencies. Some sporadic incidents of unrest were reported in Karachi, but no major disruptions were confirmed.

In total, around 243,187 voters (133,038 men and 110,154 women) were registered to cast their ballots across 168 polling stations. The elections included contests for six chairmen, seven vice chairmen, 13 general members, and two district council members.

Sindh Districts By-Election Result 2025

All major parties including PPP, Jamaat-e-Islami, JUI-F, TLP, and PML-N fielded their candidates. Several independent candidates supported by PTI also contested in different constituencies, but PPP maintained a strong edge throughout most districts.

By-Elections in Karachi Result List

In Karachi, by-polls were held on five seats across East, West, and Keamari districts. A total of 54 candidates were in the contest.

Independent Candidates Winning Sindh By-Polls

Some independent candidates also succeeded. For example, in Mirpurkhas UC-20, independent candidate Owais secured 338 votes to defeat TLP’s Mohammad Rafiq, who got 71 votes.

ECP Observations And Polling Disruptions

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) noted that of the 67 scheduled by-elections, 33 candidates were elected unopposed, no nominations were filed in two constituencies, three were rejected, and one candidate withdrew voluntarily.

Although the polling was largely peaceful, minor disturbances occurred in Karachi:

  • In Manghopir UC-10 and Baldia Town UC-8, rival groups clashed briefly outside polling stations.
  • In Orangi UC-1, a religious party alleged irregularities, prompting police intervention and additional security deployment.

ECP dismissed allegations of major irregularities, maintaining that the Sindh by-elections 2025 were conducted in a generally orderly and transparent manner.
